The secret to getting ahead in the New Year , is getting started! The kickoff of the 11th annual Hub City 100 Miler Challenge is now just one week away and counting . This 100 - day program starts January 12 and runs through April 20 , encouraging and rewarding participants to get and remain active by setting a goal to either walk one mile or exercise 20 minutes each day .
Registered “100 Milers” will receive weekly e - newsletters offering motivation , inspiration , ways to get your miles in , opportunities to get connected and stay active , while eligible to win weekly and grand prizes over 14 weeks . Visit the program website at

The Hub City 100 Miler program is open to anyone in the community and beyond . You don’t have to live in the City of Hagerstown to register and participate! The program is self - reporting so each individual is responsible for keeping track of his or her own progress . The ultimate goal is to move your body one mile a day for 100 days . The program is adaptable to any age or fitness level from beginner to advanced .
Registration will remain open through January 31 and is $10 , or $20 with a t - shirt and $25 with a long - sleeve t - shirt . Anyone who registers has the chance to win grand prizes like men’s and women’s sport fitness bikes , a kayak , fitness sessions , golf and pool passes , and so much more!
On Friday , January 12 at 5pm , the program officially kicks off and 100 Milers are encouraged to walk the first mile together at Fairgrounds Park in Hagerstown . Come early starting at 3:30pm to visit with local health and fitness vendors in the Fit Room at Fairgrounds Park and start your 100 - day journey off on the right foot! Attending the kickoff is not a requirement of the program . On Friday evening and Saturday morning , 100 Milers will also have the opportunity to earn their first mile ( s ) by participating in free fitness classes virtually and/or in person .
