Missoula County Montana - Missoula County Invites Public to Participate in Housing and Community Development Survey 01 February 2024 ( news )

Missoula County is seeking input to help identify needs and gaps in services related to public infrastructure and facilities , economic development , community services and housing . The public is invited to fill out a brief and anonymous survey online at
missoulacountyvoice . com
. The survey opens Thursday , Feb . 1 , and closes at 3 p . m . Thursday , Feb . 15 .
“This annual survey helps gauge the community’s interests and funding priorities and identifies needs throughout Missoula County , ” said Sarah Bell , grants administrator with Grants and Community Programs . “The data gathered will help inform and guide the process of applying for state and federal funding when the opportunities arise . ”
Missoula County can apply for funding from the Montana Community Development Block Grant Program ( CDBG ) and HOME Investment Partnerships Program , which are federal programs the Montana Department of Commerce administers . The County can also apply for other grant funding sources that support local housing , public facilities and infrastructure , and other community needs .
County staff will present the survey results and take additional public comment at 6 p . m . Tuesday , March 5 , at the Missoula Public Library , on the fourth floor in Cooper Space A - North 401 . The meeting will also be streamed virtually via Microsoft Teams . A virtual public meeting link and survey results will be posted on the Missoula County Voice survey page .
Local organizations that are considering developing any state CDBG and/or HOME - eligible projects in the next two years are highly encouraged to participate in the survey and attend the public meeting . Written comments must be submitted through Missoula County Voice by Thursday , Feb . 15 , or at the public meeting .
If someone wants to participate but does not have access to a smartphone or personal computer , the Missoula Public Library and satellite locations at Big Sky High School , Seeley - Swan High School , Swan Valley Community Library , Lolo School , Frenchtown High School and Potomac School have computers available during public use hours . Wastewater system updates in East Missoula and at the resident - owned Buena Vista trailer court near the airport
An owner - occupied housing rehabilitation for low - to moderate - income households to ensure that the housing is safe , decent and sanitary , and to prevent further deterioration .
