   Hello .  This is Mayor Mark Zinna with a Friday news update .  
   Tenafly had 28 new COVID cases this week .  Last week there were 52 new cases .  There were no COVID deaths reported .
   Today is National Arbor Day , a day set aside to promote the planting of trees and appreciating the environment . Celebrate this day and support efforts to protect trees and woodlands .
   Congratulations to the Tigers varsity baseball team . Last weekend they tossed a no - hitter , resulting in a 10 - 0 shutout victory for the Tigers over Park Ridge . Wonderful win boys!
   Congratulations to lacrosse Captain Ben Roberts . Ben is the first player in New Jersey to score his cumulative 200th point during the 2022 season . We’re very proud of the entire team effort .  
   Catch the Tenafly boys lacrosse game against River Dell on Saturday at 2pm and the girls varsity lacrosse against Emerson on Saturday at 10 AM .
   Tenafly High School is presenting Disney’s , The Little Mermaid . Don ' t miss this incredible performance by our THS students . Performances are tonight , Friday , April 29th and Saturday , April 30th at 7:30 PM . There is also a 2 PM matinee on Saturday .    Congratulations to the Tenafly Historic Preservation Commission for winning the 2022 Bergen County Historic Preservation Award for their newest publication - a walking tour booklet featuring Tenafly locations associated with Elizabeth Cady Stanton and her work fighting for universal voting rights .  Copies of the tour booklet are available at Borough Hall .
   Saturday , April 30th starting at 9 AM the Korean Community Center is hosting a public audition for rising KPOP artists organized by Korea ' s FNC Entertainment .
   The Garden Club’s Annual Mother’s Day plant sale is next Friday , May 6 and Saturday , May 7 at both Davis Johnson Park and Oresko Memorial Green .  
   Next weekend , Sunday , May 8th is the Rubin Run at the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades . Sign up at www . jccotp . org .
   Save the date for the Tenafly Welcome! committee event for new residents on May 11 at 6 pm at Peace Plaza , in front of the library .
   Sign up for the Nature Center annual dinner on Sunday , May 15th . The dinner will feature an evening of delicious food , and entertainment . Tickets are available at TenaflyNC . org .  
   The Tenafly Rotary again thanks everyone for supporting their food collection box at Stop & Shop , next to TPR . Please continue to donate in - date , non - perishable food to help support the Center for Food Action .
