   Mayor Kraham Kicks Off Clinton Street Revitalization Effort
   City Releases Online Survey to Collect Public Input on Plans to Revitalize Key First Ward Corridor

   Mayor Jared M . Kraham on Thursday joined First Ward business owners and community members to kick off a major revitalization effort on Clinton Street , announcing the launch of an online survey to collect public input on the development of the Clinton Street Neighborhood Business Distric......t .
   “Clinton Street is ripe for revitalization , with its historic storefronts , walkable footprint , development - ready spaces and proximity to Binghamton’s urban core , ” said
   Mayor Jared M . Kraham
    . “With support from New York State through the Downtown Revitalization Initiative ( DRI ) , the City would advance an ambitious plan to reimagine the Clinton Street Neighborhood Business District and rejuvenate the surrounding neighborhoods . The online survey released today is a first step in gathering community input on the future of this important First Ward corridor . ”
   The City of Binghamton plans to apply for funding for Clinton Street revitalization efforts through the New York State DRI . Applications are due in late September .
   The online survey released Thursday seeks public input on Clinton Street and its future streetscape improvements , commercial redevelopment and housing .
   "We decided to make Clinton Street the home of our small business because we recognized the area’s potential and wanted to be part of the positive momentum happening here , ” said

   The deadline to complete the survey is August 31

   A public workshop to gather additional input is scheduled for Wednesday , September 14 at 6pm at the First Ward Senior Center ( 226 Clinton Street ) .
   Through the Binghamton Local Development Corporation ( BLDC ) , the City has hired a team of consultants from Barton & Loguidice , 4ward Planning Inc . and Whitham Planning & Design to help design the revitalization plan .
   In addition to feedback from the survey and public workshop , the team will work directly with stakeholders , including local business owners , non - profits and community members , to shape the future of Clinton Street .
