City of Delaware residential refuse and recycling collections will take place on Monday , January 15 , and collections for the week will on the regular schedule .
   Refuse collection on the holiday is a change from previous years . The reason for the change is that "next day" collections extend the collection week to Saturday when the Delaware County Transfer Station , where all City trash is taken , has reduced hours . The station closes before we can complete that days route requiring garbage and recycling to be left on on our trucks over the weekend .
   Most City offices will be closed on Jan . 15 .
