Henderson , Nev . – ( February 9th , 2024 ) On February 8th , 2024 , at approximately 5:06 P . M . , the City of Henderson Police and Fire Departments responded to the area of East Sunset Road and North Green Valley Parkway in reference to a collision involving a vehicle and a motorcyclist .  
   Preliminary investigation revealed a black Yamaha motorcycle was traveling eastbound on East Sunset Road . A gold Toyota sedan was traveling on westbound Sunset Road in the center turn lane . The Toyota failed to yield the right of way to oncoming traffic , turning left directly into the path of the motorcyclist , causing the collision .
   The 54 - year - old male motorcyclist was transported to a local area hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries .  
   Speed and impairment are not considered factors in this incident .   
   As this is still an active and open investigation , no further details will be provided at this time .
   The name of the decedent will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office after next of kin notifications .  
   The collision is being investigated as the sixth accident - related fatality for 2024 .
