Henderson , Nev . – ( February 8 , 2024 ) The City of Henderson Police Department will be Joining Forces from February 9th , 2024 , through February 23rd , 2024 , for an enhanced traffic enforcement initiative targeting impaired drivers .
As part of Joining Forces , Henderson Police will work to make our roadways safer and bring greater awareness to the importance of safe and sober driving . The goal is to save lives by increasing public awareness about the dangers of making poor choices while driving . During this time , Henderson Police will aim to reduce tragedies caused by people driving while impaired .
Henderson Police always urge the public to use a designated sober driver , taxi , or a ride - sharing company to avoid the potentially devastating impacts of drunk or impaired driving .
Henderson Police Department received $196 , 000 in federal funding for the enhanced enforcement initiatives through the Nevada Department of Public Safety – Office of Traffic Safety for the 2024 Joining Forces program ( performance period October 2023 through September 2024 ) .
Nevada’s goal is to have zero fatalities on our roads . As a community , we need to work together to reach this goal and that includes to always drive sober . Henderson Police aims to increase awareness for traffic safety and change risky behavior , thereby preventing accidents and saving lives .
