Hanover County’s “Spirit of Volunteerism” program honors outstanding individuals who give back to our community . Nominations are now open to recognize the contributions of these volunteers in the following categories:
   Spirit of One ( individual 19 years of age or older ) .
   Spirit of Youth ( individual 18 years of age or younger or still in high school ) .
   Spirit of Youth - Team
    
   Spirit of Dedication ( individual 60 years and older ) .
   Spirit of Family
   Spirit of Team ( a group of two or more adult volunteers ) .
   Spirit of Inspiration ( individual who has volunteered 20 years or more for a specific organization ) .
   Commitment to Community ( Hanover County business that exemplifies strong community values and a sustained commitment to supporting our community ) .
   All nominees will be recognized at Hanover’s “Spirit of Volunteerism”
    
   awards
    
   celebration on Monday , April 15 from 7 - 9 p . m . at Atlee High School . The event is free and open to the public .   This inspiring program will include music , award presentations and light refreshments . It’s an opportunity to celebrate active members of our community who have shared their kindness and compassion in service to organizations , schools , faith - based and county programs .
