A freeze warning is in effect for Louisville and surrounding areas during the weekend of January 13 . The
National Weather Servicepredicts temperatures will remain below freezing for several days , with daytime highs in the single digits and overnight lows below zero .
In response to the forecasted below - freezing temperatures , the
Governor ' s office has issued a disaster declaration
. It is recommended to avoid unnecessary travel and outdoor activities , move animals to sheltered areas , bring pets inside , and dress in layers if you need to go outside . If traveling , check
cotrip . orgfor road conditions and prepare your vehicle with an emergency kit and supplies .
Please note that due to these extreme conditions
Old Town Skatewill be closed Saturday , January 13 - Monday , January 15 , 2024 .
Additionally , to prevent burst pipes , open kitchen and bathroom cabinet doors , let cold water drip from a faucet , disconnect outdoor hoses , turn off water to sprinklers , and keep thermostats set to 60 degrees or higher .
