At approximately 2:00 a . m . Saturday , May 21 2022 patrol officers from the Frederick Police Department responded to the 400 Block of North Market Street after hearing what sounded like gun fire .  
   Upon arrival officers determined an incident did occur in which a firearm was discharged . Later , FPD received notice from an area hospital that one victim was shot and suffered non - life threatening injuries and arrived at the hospital .  
   This is an open and active investigation . The Frederick Police Department is seeking any information residents may have to assist in this case . Any residents or businesses in the area that have video footage are encouraged to share that footage to assist in the investigation .
