The Nevada Department of Transportation ( NDOT ) announces a long - term closure of Las Vegas Blvd ( SR - 604 ) under Interstate 15 ( I - 15 ) and associated on/offramps at Apex .
The closures are necessary to accommodate the lowering of SR - 604 and the reconstruction of the ramps . Due to damage to the I - 15 bridge by high - load impacts , structural repair was deemed appropriate and necessary . With the added improvement of lowering the profile of the roadway , the minimal height clearance will be increased and reduce the number of impacts in the future .

Las Vegas Blvd ( SR - 604 ) under I - 15 in Apex
Duration: 24/7 from Sunday , Feb . 18 at 7:00 p . m . to Tuesday , April 23 at 6:00 p . m .
Southbound I - 15 Off/Onramp Closure:Las Vegas Blvd ( SR - 604 ) in Apex
Duration: 24/7 from Monday , Feb . 19 at 5:00 a . m . to Friday , March 1 at 6:00 p . m .
Northbound I - 15 Off/Onramp Closure:Las Vegas Blvd ( SR - 604 ) in Apex
Duration: 24/7 from Wednesday , April 10 at 5:00 a . m . to Monday , April 22 at 6:00 p . m .
Detours for these closures will be routed through the Speedway/I - 15 interchange ( Exit 54 ) and the I - 15/US - 93 Interchange ( Exit 64 ) .
This closure is part of the ongoing I - 15 widening project , expanding the freeway from two to three lanes in each direction between Speedway Blvd and the U . S . 93 interchange . In addition to widening I - 15 , the 11 - mile stretch of the freeway will undergo bridge rehabilitation , commercial truck parking improvements , and enhanced landscaping and aesthetics . The $71 . 5 million project commenced in Summer 2022 and is expected to conclude in the Fall of 2024 .
