An
extensive digital archive
of historical building and planning documents for most addresses in Sausalito is now available in the central corridor of City Hall across from the Community Development Department counter .
The new archive is part of the City ' s ongoing effort to improve transparency and access to public records for Sausalito residents and those doing business in our community .
The archive is available to the public via a dedicated station that is free for anyone to use when City Hall and the Sausalito Library are
open
.
Types of historical documents in the archive include:
Planning and building permits
Topographic surveys
Architectural plans
Encroachment agreements
Planning commission and City Council staff reports and resolutions pertaining to old planning projects
Historical microfiche records
Sanitation and sewer records
A laminated page of instructions on using the database is located next to the computer station .
City planning staff will be available to assist people with the digital archive during counter hours of Tuesday and Wednesday from 9:00 a . m . to noon . If planning staff is unavailable , inquire at the library service desk for a brief tutorial .
