The City of Douglasville was named the “Large Business of the Year” at the Douglas County Chamber Ball on Saturday , February 3rd .
The annual event celebrates individuals and businesses who are making an impact on the community . The Large and Small Business of the Year awards are awarded to businesses that are committed to and have a positive impact on staff and the community .
“It is truly an honor to celebrate alongside our chamber investors , the City of Douglasville , as our 2023 Large Business of the Year , ” said Sara Ray , President and CEO of the Douglas County Chamber . “The leadership from the City Council and City staff is truly a testament to the definition of this award . They exemplify growth , innovation , and an unwavering commitment to serving our community . The Douglas County Chamber is proud to recognize the City of Douglasville as a significant driver of what truly makes Douglasville a place where partnerships and businesses thrive!”
This award recognizes the accomplishments and contributions of one business towards the economic health and vitality of Douglas County in the areas of products , services , marketing , customer , and employee relationships , community support , and entrepreneurial spirit .
According to the Chamber , the City of Douglasville was recognized for several reasons .
The establishment of the free Wellness Center underscores the city’s sincere dedication to staff well - being and fostering a positive work - life balance . The grand opening of the GreyStone Amphitheater at the Douglasville Town Green in 2023 marked a milestone with community concerts featuring Gladys Knight , Boney James , and LeAnn Rimes .
Over the last year , the city has been the recipient of the 2024 GACVB travelblazer Award , the 2023 Governors Circle Award for outstanding achievements in community beautification and environmental sustainability , the Healthiest Employer Award by the Atlanta Business Chronicle , and a finalist of the Gold Medal Award by the National Recreation and Park Association ( NRPA ) .
The recent launch of Douglasville University further emphasizes the city’s commitment to continuous growth and development for staff members , echoing the value that life happens here , in the heart of Douglasville .
