Animal Shelter Grand Opening: Saturday , March 16 from Noon - 2 p . m .
We are excited to officially open our doors to the public on Saturday , March 16 . Stop by the new Ron and Sherrie Lou Noel Boone County Shelter ( 5620 Idlewild Road , Burlington ) and meet our adoptable animals and learn more about the services available at the new shelter . Festivities begin at noon and last until 2 p . m . We can’t wait to see you there!

Rural Water 3 . 0: Project Updates
Staff expect to make a report to the Fiscal Court on Tuesday , March 19 . The report will include a prioritized listing of streets the staff recommends moving to the next level of evaluation . Residents are invited to attend the Fiscal Court meeting to learn about the recommended plan water installation .
Fiscal Court Meeting Recap
The Fiscal Court met on Tuesday , March 5 , for its first regular business meeting of the month . Several items were discussed , including seasonal hires for parks and approval of a zone change for a new residential neighborhood off Hathaway Road in Union . ( Read more . ) Elected officials of the fiscal court also paved the way for providing incentives for the expansion of 80 Acres , a vertical farming facility in unincorporated Boone County .
80 Acres plans to add another grow zone to their current facility . An industrial revenue bond , potentially issued by the Fiscal Court , would help support the expansion while bringing more jobs and desirable industries into the county .
