FAYETTEVILLE , N . C . - American Airlines announced they will introduce an additional daily frequency to Charlotte Douglas International Airport ( CLT ) from Fayetteville Regional Airport ( FAY ) .   
   Additionally , effective March 5 , 2024 , American Airlines will discontinue service between Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport ( DFW ) and Fayetteville Regional Airport . This change is aimed at optimizing its network and enhancing customer experience .   
   This strategic adjustment reflects American Airlines ' commitment to providing efficient and convenient travel options for its customers . Passengers will have access to up to five daily flights to Fayetteville from Charlotte . Passengers traveling through Charlotte Douglas International Airport can reach 182 destinations , international and domestic , making it a key hub for worldwide travelers . These flights will offer seamless one - stop connections to American Airlines ' extensive global network , providing convenient access to even more destinations around the globe .  
   A statement from the American Airlines Government Affairs office: “We’re proactively reaching out to impacted customers with alternate travel arrangements” , underscoring the airline ' s dedication to ensuring a smooth transition for affected passengers . ”
