The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Eastern WA and Northern ID . Widespread snow will move into the region starting tonight , 1/16/24 at midnight and will continue into Wednesday and Wednesday evening . Heavy snow is expected with accumulations between 7 and 12 inches in the valleys and 12 - 18 inches in the mountains .
   *IMPACTS: travel could be very difficult and snow could impact morning and evening commutes with the potential of 1" per hour at times .
   *PRECAUTIONS: if you must travel , monitor road conditions and keep an extra flashlight , food , and water available in your vehicle in case of emergency .
