The Water Resources Supervisor position is responsible for the management of a 3.2 MGD advanced tertiary treatment wastewater plant and a 2.5 MGD groundwater treatment plant. Typical duties include (not all inclusive):
Directs the day-to-day operations and supervises employees
Schedules, oversees, and records preventive maintenance programs
Assists with the sludge management program, planning and implementing plant improvements and new programs, bid preparations, scheduling warranty work, and conducting divisional inventories
Oversees the industrial pre-treatment program
Monitors and provides inventory control of supplies and equipment
Maintains records concerning operations and programs
Prepares reports for Director and/or outside agencies
Coordinates with contractors in providing services; solicits bids for equipment and contracted work
Reviews safety practices and procedures
Assists Director in preliminary budgets
This is a full-time position with an outstanding benefits package to include:

Requirements at time of application:
A current Class “B”, State of Michigan, Sewage Treatment Works Operator Certificate.
A minimum of five years of experience in wastewater operations.
Valid Operator’s License and satisfactory driving record. Must be insurable by the City.
A Class “A”, State of Michigan - Sewage Treatment Works Operator Certificate, an Associate’s Degree in a related field and prior supervisory experience
preferred
.

A comprehensive background, physical and drug screen will be conducted on the successful applicant
Residency within a 20-mile radius of the city limits is required within 90 days after hire
Rotating on-call coverage is required
Class “A” certificate will be required within a period determined by the Director.
