DeSoto County , MS -
The DeSoto County Election Commission notified the DeSoto County Board of Supervisors that Longview Point Baptist Church will no longer be available for voting .
The 5
th
district precinct , called 505 Hernando East , was the largest precinct in the county with approximately 5 , 400 active voters . It will now be split into two precincts with about 2600 - 2700 voters in each precinct .
David Ross , District 5 Election Commissioner , worked diligently to acquire the two new locations .
Precinct 505 Colonial Hills Hernando:
1225 Monteith Ave , Hernando , MS 38632
Precinct 510 Hernando Hills Elementary
: 570 McIngvale Rd , Hernando , MS 38632
The Board of Supervisors approved the two locations during the February 7 , 2022 Board Meeting .
The DeSoto County Circuit Clerk’s office will mail new Voter Registration Cards to affected voters within the next few weeks .
Voters are encouraged to review their voter registration card to determine their precinct before the next election on June 7 , 2022 . Signs will also be posted two weeks prior to the election as a reminder that Longview Point Baptist Church is no longer a voting precinct .
