JOB SUMMARY
The Utility Technician Trainee is responsible for performing a variety of manual labor for the repair, construction and maintenance of the water distribution and wastewater collection system.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
•
Ability to learn to perform manual labor work, to include installation of pipes and fittings, for the repair, construction and maintenance of water and wastewater systems.
•
Ability to learn to excavate and backfill trenches to complete repairs.
•
Ability to learn to load and unload trucks.
•
Ability to learn to stock vehicles with necessary equipment and material.
•
Ability to learn to Clean, organize, and maintain facilities, tools, and equipment.
•
Ability to learn to observe and promote all established safety procedures.
•
Ability to learn to assist with the set-up of work zone barricades and signs for traffic control.
•
Performs other duties as assigned.
