This Monday , the City Council unanimously voted to approve Mayor Nicholson’s proposal to temporarily close the portion of Pleasant Street between City Hall Avenue and Parker Street to allow for outdoor seating options for the public . This pilot program will begin on Monday , June 20th . Two parallel parking spots closed to Parker Street , one parking spot closer to City Hall Avenue , and George Sweeney Parking Lot will remain open and accessible via City Hall Ave . Lights will be strung over the area and flower beds , available for sponsorship , will be spread between the tables . Extra trash receptacles will be added to the area . Temporary restroom facilities will also be added to the location .  The materials from this pilot are being funded through state and federal grant funding . Parking meters on City Hall Avenue will be removed to provide a free alternative to the parking spots that will temporarily be removed due to this closure .
