Libraries for All: A New Future for the Fox  
   Take the survey and attend a public meeting on Jan . 11 , 13 , or 17 .  
   Arlington is currently in the process of applying for a Massachusetts Public Library Construction Program grant , due in May 2024 . If awarded , the grant will fund up to 50% of the Town’s eligible costs for rebuilding the Fox Branch and creating a fully accessible library that meets the diverse and expanding interests of our community . Public input meetings are scheduled for;   
   Jan . 11 at 7:00 p . m . , Fox Library  
   Jan 13 at 10:00 a . m . Fox Library  
   Jan . 17 at 7:00 p . m . held via Zoom .

   Vilahomat Named Arlington’s Assistant Library Director 
   Lara Vilahomat began her role on December 4 , 2023 .
    
   Arlington Library Director , Anna Litten , is pleased to announce the appointment of Lara Vilahomat as the Town’s new Assistant Library Director . The Assistant Library Director performs professional , administrative , and supervisory work assisting the Director of Libraries in the direction , operation , and administration of the Robbins Library and the Fox Branch Library . This role aids in the development and implementation of the library’s long - range plan , policies , and procedures . Lara Vilahomat began her role on December 4 , 2023 .

   Community Development Block Grant Application Deadline Jan 12
   The Town of Arlington’s Community Development Block Grant ( CDBG ) Program Year 50 Application is now available . The Department of Planning and Community Development invites applications for projects including affordable housing , economic development , parks , public facilities , infrastructure , and public services from eligible applicants . The funding period for this grant is July 1 , 2024 – June 30 , 2025 . The application is due January 12 , by noon . Guidelines and application are available at
