Lewisville to host Texas Youth Advisory Commission Summit
Lewisville , and the Lewisville Youth Action Council , will welcome hundreds of civic - minded students to town for the 24th Annual Texas Youth Advisory Commission Summit , Feb . 2 - 4 , at the Hilton Garden Inn Lewisville .
This state - wide event is aimed at educating , inspiring , and empowering youth . It will push attendees to their maximum potential with skill - building workshops , inspirational speakers , and networking opportunities . It also allows communities to share their program experiences and learn from each other .
Attendees will learn the basics of public speaking , learn how to become a more confident public speaker , money basics for teens , and learn about other YAC projects happening around the state . While here , attendees also will spend time at some Lewisville entertainment venues , and at
Thrive
, the City’s multigenerational recreation center .
Members of Lewisville’s Youth Action Council advise City Council on youth - related issues; assist with special projects and events; research , assess , and evaluate existing youth and community programs; design and plan new youth events and activities to encourage youth involvement in the community; and serve as ambassadors for , and inspire , other young people by completing service projects and sharing their stories .
