The temperatures are rising , the kids are out of school , and summer reading is back! Glendale Public Library is proud to offer Maricopa County ' s 2021 Summer Reading Program for all ages , from
June 1 - August 1

This year’s theme is “Tails and Tales , ” exploring the many stories of the animal kingdom . Although the program is designed to maintain and improve literacy skills throughout the summer , it’s not just for kids! Summer Reading allows readers of all ages to earn points , unlock badges , and win prizes . It’s fun for the whole family!
You can earn one point per minute for reading printed books or eBooks ( including graphic novels ) or listening to audiobooks . Reading at least 20 minutes per day is the goal! Earn additional points for attending virtual events hosted by librarians and local performers , completing online library challenges , and participating in community experiences to find secret codes outside of the library .
Although you must register and log your reading online to play , you can still pick up paper reading gameboards at all of our library locations to help keep track . If you need help registering or logging reading time online , library staff will be happy to assist you .
