Oasis Air Conditioning and Heating , a family owned and operated company here in Fallon , is one of the final local contractors to add their expertise to the construction of the Rafter 3C Arena on Sheckler Road .
Involved in the conceptualization and final design stages of the mechanical systems , Oasis furnished and installed the heating and cooling systems for the Rafter 3C Arena , installed the kitchen hood and exhaust fans and all the duct work and circulating fans in the building .
“They gave us a fully automated system with settings for heating and cooling for when the building is occupied and unoccupied , ” said Chris Spross , the county’s public works and planning director who acted as the general contractor for the Rafter 3C build .
“This system has the ability to flush 100 percent of the air in the building in a short period of time in order to minimize dust and odors from any events in the facility , ” he said .
A total of three coolers were installed: one for the concourse area and two for the arena and they work together to provide a comfortable atmosphere throughout the facility .
Oasis was able to overcome hurdles of materiel shortages and supply chain challenges to maintain the schedule set forth by the county .
Oasis’ contract with the county came in at $882 , 000 for the work they did .

While this is the final story in the series on local contractors , the county would be amiss not to mention and recognize the work of the many supporting contractors and vendors who worked together to put up this building in less than two years .
Those companies include: JP Copoulos ( architect ) , Infinity Engineering ( structural engineering ) , Western Timber Frame ( exterior pavilion ) , Irwin Seating Company ( bleachers ) , MAPCA ( surveying ) , Northern Nevada Concrete ( structural concrete ) , Northern Nevada Rebar ( reinforcing steel ) and High Desert Surface Prep ( floor stain and polish ) .
Overhead Fire Protection provided the fire protection system , Bruce Purves Construction ( interior buildout ) , Fly Right , LLC ( framing/sheetrock/tape , texture and paint ) , Romero Door & Hardware ( doors , hardware , bathroom partitions and accessories ) , Kemper & Sons Masonry ( stonework ) , Quality Tile & Marble ( tile ) , Fallon Glass & Sign ( storefront windows and doors , One Horse Overhead Door ( rollup doors ) and Rhyno Built , LLC ( custom handrails and gates ) .
The Rafter 3C Arena opens to the public on June 1 at 1 p . m . with a dedication event . All are invited to attend and see Churchill County’s newest event space for hosting livestock events , concerts and equipment shows that will drive economic development in the region .
