Stafford offices , departments , facilities , and all courts will be closed for the George Washington Day holiday on Monday , February 19 , 2024 . Stafford County follows the Commonwealth of Virginia holiday calendar . Virginia is one of only four states recognizing the third Monday in February as “Washington’s Birthday” or “George Washington Day . ” Most other states observe Presidents Day .
   Both locations of the R - Board/Regional Landfill ( Eskimo Hill and Belman Road ) will be open .
