Solar - bration: Observation Day

   Observation Day!
   Bring your chair , solar glasses ( limited availability at the library ) and view the eclipse on the library grounds . Groton is not in the path of TOTALITY , but will see an 85% partial eclipse . Thames Amateur Astronomical Society members will have one or two solar telescopes for public viewing . The Library will also have the NASA streaming event live in our large meeting room . No registration necessary .
   Pick up free , certified ISO 12312 - 2 solar eclipse viewing glasses beginning on Friday , April 5 at 9am . The Library reserves the right to hold some glasses for the day of the eclipse event , Monday , April 8th . One pair per family . Limited availability , FIRST COME , FIRST SERVE .
   Generously donated through funding from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation , the Space Science Institute , through its Solar Eclipse Activities for Libraries ( SEAL ) program .
