The Public Works and Utilities department is seeking volunteers to pilot test a new smart water meter with Advanced Metering Infrastructure ( AMI ) Technology .
   Superior’s operations and maintenance staff will change out your water meter with an AMI smart meter at
   no cost
   to volunteers .
   The AMI smart meter will send your water usage data to the cloud so the Town Staff will not have to come to your house for a manual meter read as we do now . Volunteers will have access to a data management program
   WaterScope
    , where you can see detailed water usage for your home throughout the day and identify any leaks you may have in your home that you may be unaware of , potentially saving thousands of gallons of water every year . You can also set water reduction goals and receive notifications to stay on track and meet your goals .
   You will still be billed like you have been with the Town’s current billing system and rates . Your water usage data is kept completely secure and can only be seen by you and the Town .  
   Again , all of this will be at no cost to you and will allow the Town to see if an AMI smart meter investment will save money and conserve water and energy , as studies have shown .
