Senior Planner
The Senior Planner assists in the operations of the Planning and Community Development office under the direction of the Director and provides a wide range of development and land use planning activities including plan review, project conformance review, duties related to board and commission staffing, plan creation and implementation, and a variety of other planning and economic development projects as needed. This position will provide primary support for the Planning Board under the supervision of the Director.

Works with applicants and reviews applications on behalf of the Planning Board
Provides staff support and technical expertise as required by the Department or the boards relating to applications, zoning, procedure, etc.
Conducts on-site field inspections of development projects (pre- and post- construction)
Assists in the review and evaluation of development and zoning proposals; assists with conformance review of permitted site plans; and prepares staff reviews for projects before other boards and commissions;
Assists in the development of neighborhood or other town-wide plans.
Assists with special projects as needed including grant applications, public outreach and education, economic development,
Conducts research and prepares reports and GIS maps relative to planning and economic development topics
Provides primary support
for the Planning Board under the supervision of the Director.
Recommended Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent thereof, in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field in addition to two years of planning and/or construction project management experience. A Master’s degree in a related field is preferred.
Salary Range
$81,866.63 - $96,755.95
