Secretary of State Antony J . Blinken will deliver keynote remarks on Tuesday , May 3 , 2022 at 1:35 p . m . , at the 52nd Annual Washington Conference on the Americas Luncheon , co - hosted by the U . S . Department of State Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs and the Council of the Americas . Titled “Building a Sustainable , Resilient , and Equitable Future , ” this year’s conference will highlight the Administration’s policy priorities in the Western Hemisphere and deep , longstanding U . S . partnerships with countries in the region as we look toward the Ninth Summit of the Americas the United States will host in Los Angeles June 6 - 10 . At the luncheon on May 3 , the Council of the Americas will honor Secretary General of the Organization of American States Luis Almagro with the Chairman’s Award for Leadership in the Americas . The luncheon will also feature remarks by U . S . Senator Bill Hagerty ( R - TN ) . The luncheon will be followed by a virtual Conference program on May 12 , 2022 .
