FAYETTEVILLE , N . C . – Registration has opened up for the city - wide spring cleanup event , Fayetteville Beautiful . This event provides an opportunity for residents to come together as a community to reduce the amount of litter and other pollutants on city streets , parks and in stormwater systems . The Fayetteville Beautiful event is scheduled to begin April 20 in Festival Park at 9 a . m . to 3 p . m .
This year the city of Fayetteville has partnered with Sustainable Sandhills and Cumberland County to host an
Earth Day is Every Dayevent . This event will coincide with Fayetteville Beautiful .
The event , which will be the first of its kind in Fayetteville and Cumberland County , will celebrate the Earth and educate residents on the importance of protecting natural resources for current and future generations .
The Earth Day is Every Day event will feature be a 5k and 10k trail race , a kid ' s zone , an electric car show , an electric E - waste drive and solid waste trucks . All residents are invited to this free event .
