ROAD CONSTRUCTION BEGINS Monday , May 23rd
Builder’s Paving will be starting work on Knollwood Drive on Monday , May 23rd . Work will be starting on storm sewer repair . Storm sewer repairs are located along the edge of the road near the existing curbs . The road will remain open to traffic . Motorists can expect lane width reduction , barricades and temporary delays in traffic near the work zone . We can expect the storm sewer repair work to last between 5 and 10 working days .
Arrow Road Construction will be starting work on the 2022 Street Improvement Project after May 25th . Work between May 25 and May 27 will mostly consist of concrete saw cutting in preparation of curb and sidewalk repairs . Work is located on various streets in the 2022 Road Program , mostly on and adjacent to Harvard Ln , Old Town Estates Subdivision , Bloomfield Hills Subdivision , Bloomfield Club Entrance Road from Schick Road , and Bayview Crossings Subdivision .
As part of the work , the crosswalks across Jefferson , Jackson and Constitution will be relocated closer to the edge of Schick Road . The purpose of the relocation is to provide a crosswalk at a safe setback to the parallel lane of travel and within the recommended standard for setback per Highway Design criteria . The current setback exceeds the maximum setback distance and can leave pedestrians in jeopardy because motorists do not stop at the sign and rather stop at a location that affords line of sight of on - coming cars . The new configuration will address that stopping location .
