Job Summary
: Performs skilled and unskilled labor in the maintenance of water and wastewater systems. Assists with the repair of water and sewer main breaks and leaks, manhole installation and repair, meter installation and removal, meter reading, and operates various equipment such as pumps, hand tools, vehicle, mowers and weed eaters, and cares for vegetation at plants and lift stations. Picks up trash at plants or lift station, and all other duties as required.
Supervision Received
: Work is performed under direct supervision of the Utilities Superintendent and/or Foreman

Essential Job Functions:
Makes morning rounds checking sewage lift stations and water wells for proper operation and to record daily meter readings
Notifies supervisor of problems and may be required to make simple field repairs
Completes work orders as assigned
Required to read meters and make service connections and disconnections
Install and remove water meters
Assist with making water and sewer taps
Must perform maintenance on water and sewer equipment and piping
Required to be in the weekly on-call rotation
May be required to mow, weed-eat, and edge grass plants or lift stations, etc.
May be required to perform maintenance on equipment
Trims limbs off trees and shrubs
Picks up trash
Requires a valid Texas Class C drivers licenses. A Texas Class B CDL preferred.
Assists other divisions and departments as needed
