NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN That the Zoning Administratorof the City of Pittsburg will conduct a public hearing in the First Foor Conference Room 4B at City Hall on February 28 , 2023 , at 1:30 PM concerning the following item ( s ) :
1398 Sanctuary Street - Fence Height Exception , AP - 24 - 0002 ( FHE )
This is a public hearing on a request for Zoning Administrator approval of a permit for a Fence Height Exception to construct a six - foot - tall , tube steel fence with self - closing gate between the open space area and the public sidewalk adjacent to West Leland Road within the Vista Del Mar ( Retreat ) Subdivision located at 1398 Sanctuary Street in the PD - 1470 ( Planned Development , Ordinance No . 19 - 1470 ) Zoning District . Assessor ' s Parcel No . 093 - 560 - 067 .
Environmental Determination
: This item is categorically exempt from the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act ( CEQA ) under Class 3 , “New Construction or Conversion of Small Structures” of the State CEQA Guidelines , section 15303 .

790 W . Leland Road , Tree Removal Permit , AP - 23 - 0159 ( TRP )
This is a public hearing , requesting Zoning Administrator approval to remove nine protected trees , as defined by Pittsburg Municipal Code ( PMC ) section 18 . 84 . 830 ( F ) . The request also includes the potential removal of three additional protected trees . Further evaluation of the three trees will take place upon excavation/grading of the site to evaluate the health of the trees . If the arborist finds the trees can be preserved , the City Planner may require the trees to be incorporated into the construction drawings and improvements plans for the project . If significant root loss has incurred , the trees may need to be removed . The project site is located at 790 W . Leland Road , Pittsburg , CA 94565 , in the GQ ( Governmental and Quasipublic ) Zoning District . Assessor’s Parcel No . 094 - 080 - 037 .
Environmental Determination:The proposed tree removal is categorically exempt from the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act ( CEQA ) under Article 19 , Categorical Exemptions , Class 4 , Section 15304 , “Minor Alterations to Land” , in that the proposed tree for removal was reviewed by an ISA Certified Arborist and was recommended for removal based on the proximity to proposed construction and condition of the tree . The proposed tree will be replaced upon its removal by seven California - native trees , 15 - gallon minimum plantings .
