JOB SUMMARY:
Under general supervision of the Pool Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for receiving admission fees, class fees, registration forms for classes, dispensing information, making change, balancing cashbox, answering telephones, making announcements on the PA system, cleaning office area, disposing of trash, and a variety of tasks relative to area of assignment. Will receive occasional instructions or assistance as new and unusual situations arise; and is fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION:
v
Ensure the adherence to safe work practices and procedures.
v
Notify supervisor of any potential safety hazards.
v
Provide information to the public in a courteous manner; resolve complaints in an efficient and timely manner.
v
Prepare reports; report incidents and accidents.
v
Notify emergency personnel as needed.
v
Lifting and carrying supplies as needed.
v
Bending, standing, lifting, use a step stool and/or ladder.
v
Using a broom, dustpan, cleaning supplies.
v
Maintain appropriate appearance and personal hygiene.
v
Interact with children.
v
Hearing and talking with citizens and employees on the phone and in person.
v
Able to count money, receive admission fees and make correct change as needed.
v
Withstand extreme heat.
v
Effectively communicate orally.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
v
Attend staff meetings as required.
v
Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, DEGREES, CERTIFICATES, AND/OR LICENSE:
v
Ability to obtain appropriate and valid CPR and First Aid Certificates.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Minimum of 16 years old; ability to cope with large groups of children and high noise levels.
Proficient in cash handling procedures
Cashier experience preferred
RATE OF PAY:
$8.25 per hour.
