PLANNER I
BASIC FUNCTIONS
: Works on a variety of current and long-range planning and building tasks in an intensive customer service environment.
Reviews building and land use permits for compliance with county development codes and plans. Responds to questions from applicants and assists them in preparing a complete application. Involves interpretation of the Comprehensive Plan, development regulations, and the ability
to develop solutions to regulatory problems.
PLANNER II
BASIC FUNCTIONS
: Works on current or long-range planning assignments. Responds to questions from applicants and the public. Evaluates development and planning proposals for consistency with local and state land use, environmental, shoreline and growth management laws and regulations. Recommends actions on land use and development proposals. Presents recommendations in public meetings and hearings

, provisional use permit shoreline exemption and variance applications for conformance with county code and State law including the State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA).
Organizes and conducts long-range comprehensive planning projects addressing land use, transportation, capital facilities, utilities, housing and other plan elements required by the Growth Management Act. Supports long-range project managers and consultants with the development of and enactment of citizen participation outreach programs. Assists in the development or review of staff reports, ordinances, public notices, and environmental reviews for long-range planning projects.
