Registered voters who are affiliated with a party ( Democratic , Republican , Libertarian ) may not file paperwork to change their party affiliation from June 10th through August of this year .
Primary Election is August 2 , 2022 but
Party Changes after June 10
th
are Limited
Deadline: June 10
A law passed in 2014 by the Kansas Legislature prohibiting party members from switching parties during a period beginning June 1st , through the date when the results of the August primary are certified . This year , due to redistricting , the deadline has been extended to
June 10th
.
Registered voters who are affiliated with a party
( Democratic , Republican , Libertarian )
may not
file paperwork to change their
Party affiliation from
June 10 through August of this year .
A registered voter who is
unaffiliated
may , however , affiliate with a party during this period , when voting at the primary , or when requesting an advance ballot .
