On Tuesday ,  February 20 , 2024 at 2:25 a . m . , Santa Clara Police Department  ( SCPD )  officers responded to a residence in the 3700 block of Poinciana Dr .  after receiving the report of a shooting .
   After they arrived on scene ,  SCPD officers detained a male suspect near the residence .  They also discovered a shooting victim in the residence that was deceased .  The suspect is in police custody at this time .  There is no threat to public safety .  This remains an open and active investigation .  More information will be provided when it becomes available .
