For commuters who typically travel down Old Port Isabel Road , it ' s important to be aware of upcoming road construction that will impact the area .  
   Starting the week of January 8 , 2024 , a section of Old Port Isabel Road , stretching from Price Road to Coffee Road , will be reduced to one lane both ways . The lane reductions are due to roadwork being conducted by the City of Brownsville ' s Engineering and Public Works Department , involving a mill and overlay process on the roadway .
