today encouraged the community to visit the district’s website ,

, for information on an operating millage renewal proposal on the Feb . 27 ballot that would continue to fund operations that provide teacher , staff and safety , as well educational programs .
“Ballot language can sometimes be confusing , so we want to encourage all voters to get the facts about the Operating Millage Renewal Proposal that will be on the ballot , ” said P - CCS Superintendent Dr .
Monica L . Merritt
. “The dollars provided by this proposal make up about 16% of our general fund budget or $33 . 5 million . These funds provide the educational programs and the highly skilled teachers and staff that make a P - CCS education so special – and that’s the learning experience our community expects and our children deserve . ”

dedicated to the Operating Millage Renewal Proposal with simple , easy - to - understand information . The page also includes testimonials from community leaders and parents in Plymouth and Canton .

The Operating Millage Renewal Proposal supports safety and security operations , and educational programs , staffing , textbooks and classroom supplies to help P - CCS students succeed . The renewal also supports mental health programs that promote the well - being of P - CCS students and wellness programs that help keep our students healthy and ready to learn every school day . Without this funding , P - CCS faces a $33 . 5 - million gap in the district’s general fund budget .
If passed , all funds from the Operating Millage Renewal Proposal would be required to undergo an annual , independent audit and be documented on the district’s website .
