☷OMB Releases Digital Accessibility Guidance

   The Office of Management and Budget ( OMB ) recently put out some new rules that federal agencies have to follow to make their websites more user - friendly for people with disabilities . It turns out that almost half of the most popular government websites don ' t meet accessibility standards , which means lots of Americans can ' t access important services and information . The new rules include things like testing websites for accessibility before they go live , involving disabled people in the design and testing process , and having a designated person in charge of making sure websites are accessible . They also suggest regularly checking websites for accessibility issues and providing training to employees . This new guidance is meant to improve accessibility across the government .
