As of today ( Friday , May 20 , 2022 ) the City of Winooski has completed an abstract of our 2022 Municipal Grand List . Change of appraisal notices will be sent out to advise property owners of their new assessment . The
   municipal grand list
    is the value used to raise municipal taxes and includes any personal property taxable at the local level and excludes locally voted exemptions .
   As part of this process , the City of Winooski is required to host a grievance meeting for those interested in appealing changes to their assessed value ( see the Vermont State Statute below ) .  
   If you are interested in filing a grievance , please submit a letter to the City Clerk’s Office (

    . ) in writing prior to June 6 , 2022 to request a hearing for the change of assessment , followed by a call or email to schedule your grievance appointment: 802 655 6410 /

    . Please note , grievances are related to the valuation of your property , not the amount of property taxes .

    - A person who feels aggrieved by the action of the listers and desires to be heard by them shall , on or before the day of the grievance meeting , file with them his or her objections in writing and may appear at such grievance meeting in person or by his or her agents or attorneys . No grievance shall be allowed for a change solely to reflect a new use value set by the current use advisory board or the adjustment of that value by the common level of appraisal . Upon the hearing of such grievance , the parties thereto may submit such documentary or sworn evidence as shall be pertinent thereto .
