☷ City of Kearney Nebraska - National Police Week Memorial Ceremony 13 May 2022★★★ ( news )

   In observance of National Police Week ( May 11 – 17 ) and Peace Officers Memorial Day ( Sunday May 15 ) members of the Kearney Police Department and Buffalo County Sheriff’s Department will host a Police Memorial Ceremony in front of the City of Kearney/Buffalo County Law Enforcement Center ( LEC ) on Monday , May 16 at 5:30 p . m . Officers will take a moment to remember Law Enforcement Officers killed in the line of duty and thank our community for the continued support . There will be a National Anthem solo , a ceremonial placing of a wreath at the base of the flag pole accompanied by bag pipes , the playing of Taps and a Police Honor Guard rifle firing party . In addition to remarks from several distinguished guests .  
    
   There will be temporary traffic delays near the LEC , 21st Avenue and A Avenue during the ceremony . The public is welcome to attend .
