The Department of Public Works seeks a qualified candidate for the position of Mechanic Working Foreman in the central fleet division. The Mechanic Working Foreman reports to the Central Fleet Manager and is responsible for the performance of a wide range of skilled work including assessing the type and amount of maintenance work to be performed, coordinating repairs, and performing and overseeing repair and maintenance of Town owned vehicles, tools and equipment. The Mechanic Working Foreman is also responsible for the processing of related project management paperwork to ensure effective recordkeeping.
    
   Must have a High School diploma or equivalent, and up to four (4) years of experience in heavy equipment and/or vehicle repair and maintenance; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of gas and diesel combustion engine diagnostic repair preferred.
    
   Class D Massachusetts Motor Vehicle Operator’s license at time of hire. Hoisting License (2A with 4E and 4G per 520 CMR 6.10) and CDL Class B required within one (1) year of date of hire. 
    
   This is a 40 hour per week AFSCME (M6) Union position. 
   Hourly rate $31.74 - $39.00
