seeks collaborative and progressive leaders for its next Township Manager. Ferguson Township is a Home Rule Municipality in the Centre Region.
Ferguson Township is near the University Park Airport and is accessible by a major highway, Interstate 99. The Township is one of six municipalities that voluntarily participates in the Centre Region Council of Governments (COG), the oldest COG in the Commonwealth that serves the region of over 90,000.
The Township Manager is appointed by and reports to a five-member Board of Supervisors, two of whom are elected at-large and three by Ward.
The township manager is responsible for all day-to-day operations and oversight of staff. Under the Council-Manager form of government, Ferguson Township is a community with approximately 65 full-time employees and a general fund budget of $15.7 million for 2022 with all funds totaling $25.4 million. The township budget has been recognized by GFOA for Excellence in Budgeting.
The Township has a 5-Year Capital Improvement Program Budget that aligns with its Strategic Plan. The Township pays close attention to its financial health and is a strong financial position.
The Township enjoys an excellent quality of life with excellent schools, low crime, and access to many recreational, cultural, and historical amenities. The community is a blend of suburban and rural character, enjoying all the amenities offered by a major university while retaining the rural charm of its many acres of beautiful farmland and public open space through its eleven parks. Ferguson has been ranked as the fifth best suburb in Pennsylvania and one of the state’s safest communities. The Township has been designated as a Sustainable Pennsylvania Certified Gold Community and is a bike friendly community.
A Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration or a related field; with eight years of experience in local government
A Master’s degree in public administration, business administration or related field and five years of progressive leadership experience within a public sector organization of similar size and/or complexity.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A collaborative, team-oriented, and approachable management style.

The salary range is $110,000 - $175,000 DOQ with comprehensive benefits.
