Norfolk Virginia - Man arrested following barricade situation on Kimball Terrace 31 December 2023 ( news )

NORFOLK , Va . ( NPD ) – A 29 - year - old man has been taken into custody by Norfolk Police following a barricade situation on Kimball Terrace .
On December 30 , 2023 , around 8:32 p . m . Norfolk police were called to a home in the 3200 block of Kimball Terrace for the report of a person with a weapon call . When Officers arrived on scene , they learned that a 29 - year - old man had assaulted a 55 - year - old man before barricading himself in the home .
The 55 - year - old man sustained non - life - threatening injuries during the assault and was taken to the hospital for treatment .
The Hostage/Crisis Negotiation Team and Special Operations Team responded to the scene , and Jaqua M . Tann , 29 , was taken into custody without incident around 2:25 a . m .
As a result of the investigation , Tann has been charged with malicious wounding and robbery . Tann also had other outstanding warrants for charges unrelated to this incident on file at the time of his arrest .
He is currently being held in Norfolk City Jail without bond .
