We want to give you a heads up about an upcoming long - term closure on Highway 170 – Alliance Parkway project . The contractor will be closing the section of Independence Parkway between the SH 170 frontage roads .  The closure is scheduled to begin at 9 a . m . on Monday , May 23 , 2022 , and will be in place until the Fall of 2022 to allow for the building of the future SH 170 lanes and Independence Parkway bridge .  
   During the closure , traffic will be detoured to the nearest cross - street intersections at Park Vista Boulevard and US 377 .  The detour map below shows the designated detour routes for both northbound and southbound Independence Parkway traffic .
