On January 8 , 2024 , at 12:51p . m . , the Loveland Emergency Communication Center received a 911 call reporting a shooting at an apartment complex in the 3800 block of East 15
thStreet , Loveland , Colorado .
The 911 caller reported that shots had been fired , the suspect was still on scene , and one adult male was deceased . Loveland Police Department Officers arrived on scene where they contacted two adult males and one juvenile female . Officers also located a 49 - year - old male deceased inside the residence with a gunshot wound to the head . Loveland Police Department detectives and crime scene personnel were notified and responded to the scene . The two adult males and the juvenile female were transported to the Loveland Police Department for follow up interviews . The scene was secured for processing .
After the initial processing of the scene and the follow up interviews were completed , Estevan Terry Vasquez , a 20 - year - old Loveland man was arrested , transported to the Larimer County Jail , and booked on the following charge: C . R . S . 18 - 3 - 102 ( 1 ) ( d ) – First degree Murder/Extreme Indifference , a class one Felony .
The Larimer County Coroner’s Office will be releasing the identity of the victim and official cause of death at a later date . At this stage of the investigation , it appears the shooting occurred after a verbal and physical disturbance between the occupants . All the occupants are known to each other and there is no threat to the public . The investigation is ongoing .

The charge is merely an accusation , and the defendant is presumed innocent until , and unless , proven guilty .
