Lottery registration for garden containers at Medley Park ' s community garden will open Jan 9 , 8 am through Jan 23 , 11:59 pm . The random draw will occur Jan 25 , and winners will be notified via email immediately after .
   Winners will have seven days to pay the rental fee and sign the use guidelines . A second round of registration will open in early February for non - residents , if space allows . There is no cost to enter the lottery .
   Renting a garden bed for the season will cost $40 for residents and $55 for non - residents , and the garden is expected to open mid - May . If gardens aren’t planted by June 4 , containers will be offered to those on the waitlist .
