Lift Station Replacement Projects
Project 601 – East Sparta Lift Station Replacement
The East Sparta station near the bridge on Farber Street is over 40 years old and past its useful life . The outdated equipment has become unsafe and very difficult to repair . HM Miller Construction is nearly complete with this $1 . 4 million project . The new lift station and improved access and ancillary components are tentatively scheduled for a start - up by the end of March .
Project 626 – Meyers Lake Lift Station Replacement
This existing station was constructed in 1953 and was the oldest of the county’s 85 lift stations . The pumps had become obsolete in recent years and the station was a top priority to replace and update to modern standards . The new lift station , in front of the Meyers Lake Shopping Plaza , is now in operation . Remaining work for the contractor ( Lockhart Concrete ) in this $1 . 3 million dollar project includes manhole rehabilitation , fencing , asphalt and final restoration .
Project 627 – Bowdale and Parkview Harbor Lift Station Replacements
Both of these stations , in Jackson and Plain Township respectively , are over 40 years old , past their useful design life and in dire need of replacement and upgrades . The two lift stations , are being replaced by Chivers Construction Company this year . Construction is scheduled to start in May and be complete early next year for this estimated $2 . 5 million dollar project .
