Full-time Lecturer or Professor of Practice
The Levin College of Urban Affairs invites applications for the position of Assistant College Lecturer or Assistant Professor of Practice of Urban Studies. The start date is August 22, 2022. While the area of specialization is open; candidates with expertise in local government management, public safety management, GIS, economic development, nonprofit management, and/or urban studies are especially encouraged to apply.
Normally, the successful candidate will teach four courses per semester (fall and spring) and complete other assigned service activities. Opportunities for summer teaching with additional compensation also may be available.
Minimum Qualifications
For appointment as an Assistant College Lecturer position, a master’s degree in urban studies, public administration, or a related field with ten (10) or more years of relevant professional public service experience is required OR a Ph.D. in urban studies, public administration, or a related field. For appointment as an Assistant Professor of Practice include a related graduate degree from an accredited university (see above) and ten (10) or more years of relevant professional experience. A Ph.D. may be substituted for up to five (5) years of relevant professional experience. Essential for each position is a commitment to student achievement and fostering a diverse student population.
